I have finally gotten the RSS feed up and running. It was on the list of things I had been planning to do since the inception of this website:
- Make website
- Set Up PHP to update everything automatically
- Set up a way to photoblog
- Make an RSS Feed
- Create Flash Movie Intro
- Create a space for comments
- Set up the Portfolio Section of the website
I finally took the time to figure out how to get it set up and working with PHP and the MySQL database I have configured to run this site.
Yes that was a lot of worthless technical jargon. Basically what all this means is that You can now subscribe to my RSS 2.0 Feed by clicking the small icon that looks like this –>
Provided you have an RSS Reader (List of Apple RSS Readers) You may also use the “live bookmarks” function in the FireFox Browser and for the Safari users you now have an RSS reader built in as well, although personally I find it much less functional than many of the other options available on the Mac. You can now be automatically notified when my website has been updated. PFFF Big whoop you may be saying, well its actually pretty cool technology, as you can subscribe to any number of other websites, including all the major news websites, to keep you up-to-date on all the happenings all around the world.
The part that I am super stoked about, which if you have been keeping up with the external links here you will start to get a picture of, is that when I make a new post on this website. I simply type my message to you in a text box. I then hit submit, and the processes do all of the coding for me, creating all the links, automatically updating the front page with the 10 newest posts, creating the new page with the full length article on it, as well as updating the new RSS Feed to tell you to check out the site! All of this is done without any extra work from me! YAY! So get yourself an RSS reader and stay up-to-date with me and the rest of the world. Its the new way to get news.
