I was very much looking forward to this weekend, maybe not so much anymore. I have since found out that the majority of people are either very shy or very stuck up. Tonight was not so good. Hajo and I met George and Marius at a pub. I didn’t not speak with a single person who was friendly. There was one bar tender who I chatted with for about 45 seconds and some crazy guy who walked around the bar telling everyone he was tripping on acid that was it. I tried to talk to about 20 people and there was not a single person boy nor girl who was at all open, and up for a chat. Every single person was stuck up, in their own group and a total jerk. After that we tried to go to some pub across the street and the bouncer immediately dissmissed us because we had “too casual a shoe” That is complete and utter rubbish. The only reason he did not let us in was because there were four guys standing in a row. If there is anything you know about me and bars it is that I absolutely hate to the Nth degree lines, cover, and the social situations they present. Especially waiting in the flipping line and then being told NO. I almost started my first Australian bar fight… but then I turned around and remembered my friends here are not quite the same size as my friends at home. Oren, Matt, Kiel, Mark and Ryan think about the time we went down to my beach and got harassed by my neighboors… it was like that x 10….
Anywho this night was total crap after that. I am just sick of how expensive everything is in this country. It costs upwards of 40 bucks to go out for the night. At home you can drink yourself stupid before you ever run out of money. Here you can run out of money before you every even get to the bar. Then you have to pay 15 flipping dollars for a cab ride home after wards… its absolutely flipping ridiculous. You spartans… just remember you have it good. REAL GOOD. You can go out for a week on what I spend in an evening just trying to get to and from the bar. Anyways this was a terrible night.. the first and hopefully the last. I really wish that this was not such a big deal but it really makes me angry when I am just trying to meet people and say hello, and everyone is just a complete and straight up jerk.
